Grandma & Child

This is one my favourite photos from our Summer Mission Trip in Southern China. We we’re able to visit one of the local minority groups living in a village away from the city where they’re main produce aside from vegetables and bananas is rubber.

I was really drawn to their traditional design and use of bright colours on her head scarf as well as their embroidery techniques and patterns.

Save Us

Currently there’s only about 3,000 tigers left in the world, down from 100,000 back in1900.

They are the largest of the four “big cats”, and used to be found anywhere from Siberia to Bali to Turkey. However hunting and development has encroached on their territory over the past century & reduced their range by over 90% and caused the extinction of three subspecies.

Believe or not in some Asian countries such as Taiwan, Korea & China a bowl of tiger penis soup (to boost virility) goes for $320, a pair of eyes (to fight epilepsy) for $170, and powdered tiger humerus (for treating ulcers and typhoid) for $3,200 per kilo in Seoul, according to the conservation charity.
